Traits vs. Disorders
We all have personality traits that characterize us. However, we speak of a disorder when these traits become inflexible and cause significant discomfort, hindering adaptation and generating suffering.
It is a maladaptive "way of being in the world" that usually begins in adolescence and can affect affective, social, and work areas.
Comprehensive Approach
At the Health and Community Foundation, we offer bio-psycho-social treatment. We perform a differential diagnosis and work through:
- Individual and Group Psychotherapy: To know one's own traits, anticipate crises, and modulate symptoms.
- Family Intervention: Fundamental psychoeducation so that the environment learns to manage the situation.
- Pharmacological Support: If necessary, to stabilize acute symptoms.
